Far from being the enemy of faith, science and reason make clear the necessity of God. Professor Antony Flew, the rationalist philosopher who died on April 8, 2010, aged 87, spent much of his life denying the existence of God. In 2004, he dramatically changed his mind. Flew concluded that research into DNA had "shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce life, that intelligence must have been involved.”
Our common sense confirms this. Every painting has a painter and every house has a builder. Creation must have a Creator. Information always requires an intelligent source. The information stored in our DNA is so complex that it points to a vastly superior intellect. “But doesn’t evolution explain everything?” The answer, quit simply, is no. The theory of evolution offers no explanation for how something came from nothing, how life came from lifeless matter, how consciousness and free will arose, and how the concept of morality came to be if the only thing that matters is “survival of the fittest.” (explore more here) |
